I got another chance to present on a very abstract topic which I have personally found very hard to articulate. It was thanks to (@NeerajMarathe) Neeraj Marathe’s four day course at FLAME University. FLAME Investment Lab provides a very unique learning platform for professionals.

Being a short residential course, it provides the right level of immersion for a learning mind. If you haven’t attended any of their courses please do consider applying for them when the applications open for next year. I’ve attended Neeraj Marathe’s course & Prof. Sanjay Bakshi’s course, I highly recommend them both. While you’re there, you can also take advantage of FLAME University’s outstanding library.

This course is for practitioners who wish to sharpen their ability to research, investigate companies & understand businesses to become better investors. Like Li Lu says, a good investor is first a good analyst. I don’t think there’s any other course that provides so much hands-on learning that you can apply in your research process from the very next day.

For the benefit of those attending I wish to share this slide deck with notes to the conversation on “Investing with Conviction”. It is an attempt to drill down on the sources of conviction which I rely upon while making decisions and build a framework to think of doing the necessary work to hold an opinion on the things I work on. If it’s not apparent, it’s still a work in progress 🙂
